Frequently Asked Questions

When are you taking applications?

                                    Full-year applications are available in February, 2017.                                      Summer challenge applications are available in January, 2018. 


What is the deadline for the Application?
The full-year application is due August 1, 2017 (postmarked date). If you apply by April 15, 2017, you are eligible for a discounted application fee of $35. Late applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis.

What are the dates for the Full-Year Program?
September 24, 2017 - July 30, 2018 (subject to change) 

When would I know if I'm accepted to the Full-Year Program?
Notification of acceptance will occur after interviews take place in late April or early May (for those who submitted by the priority deadline).

What are the dates for the Summer Challenge?
June 24, 2018 - July 19, 2018 (subject to change)

When would I know if I'm accepted to Summer Challenge?
Notification of acceptance will be sent by June, 2018

Can people living overseas apply to the NGA Full-Year Program?
Yes. However, NGA participants are expected to be able to speak English fluently and should have proper legal status in the United States. If a sponsored visa is required, extra fees may apply.

Is there a cap on how many participants are accepted?
Yes. We typically get more applications than space will allow.
