Hello hello hello world!

After our 30 hour flight, we made it to Zambia safe and sound! The first night we stayed in Lusaka with the other Zambia team to get enough rest for our 5 hour bus ride to Ndola the next morning. Even though it’s a pretty long bus ride, I enjoyed it! It was interesting passing through different cities and observing the culture, the people, and the scenery. I also fell asleep for half of it so time flew by. We are currently in our homestay in Ndola. We are staying in our own miniature home built by the volunteers of the non-profit iChange which is on the same property of our guide’s home. When we arrived, there was actually a wedding ceremony going on since there is also a church on the property. After the ceremony, we had lunch and our team spent time with all of the children at the event. Lucas joined the boys in a soccer game while Joon Young taught the other children how to take pictures on a DSLR. The girls played with my hair after I helped them pick out ripe guava from a guava tree. The kids here are super youthful and know how to bring a smile to your face! We really look foward to meeting the rest of the people of Ndola! The weather is pretty perfect as well, surprisingly not too humid. Our future plans include giving character education presentations to different schools as well as visiting the nearby orphanage. Please check the blog weekly as we continue to update! Thank you once again everybody who supported us for this trip.
